La Shawn Butler joined Regional Government Services (RGS) as a Senior Advisor in the Human Resources Service Group in 2023. Ms. Butler has over twenty-six years’ experience in municipal management with an emphasis in parks, recreation, and community services. She has managed large construction projects, many levels of staff, and effectively streamlined budgets. She is an expert in managing grants and community Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) such as parks, playgrounds, security gates, cameras, and transit improvements. La Shawn brings the knowledge to strengthen staff efficiencies through tracings and mentorship, budget reconstruction, and project management.
Ms. Butler holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. She a member of California Parks and Recreation Society, and the National Parks and Recreation Association (NPRA).
Outside of work, La Shawn enjoys traveling, learning to cook new recipes, and spending time with family and friends.
